Mechanical protection, sealing and tensile strain relief of cable-to-connector. This type of shaped part is used especially where there is a big difference between the size of the connector (adapter) and the cable. On the connector side, there is a shoulder which, when shrunk, fits into the recess on the connector of the heat-shrinkable molded parts. This finish provides better strain relief for the cable.
